What file formats can I use to import books? Two formats are supported:

  • CSV (spreadsheet files) -- Results appear immediately
  • MARC21 (.mrc files) -- Processed in the background in batches

Both formats have a maximum file size of 50 MB.

Can the system fill in book details automatically? Yes. If you enter a book's ISBN, the system searches online databases (like Open Library and Google Books) to find and fill in the title, author, publisher, and other details.

What classification systems are supported? Three systems are supported:

  • Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) -- the most common in Philippine schools
  • Library of Congress Classification (LCC) -- common in college and university libraries
  • Custom -- for schools with their own system

What is an accession number? An accession number is a unique ID assigned to each physical copy of a book when it enters the library. The system generates accession numbers automatically. Your school can set a prefix (like "SJCS-") that appears before each number.

What is weeding? Weeding is the process of removing books from your collection that are old, damaged, or no longer used. The system's Weeding Report helps identify candidates based on age, condition, and borrowing history.

What is stocktaking? Stocktaking is the process of physically checking which books are on the shelves and comparing them against the system's records. It helps find missing books, misplaced books, and items not in the system.
