Renewing a Book for a Student

1 min read 16 views

If a student or teacher needs to keep a book longer, you can renew it.

  1. Click Borrow Books in the sidebar menu.
  2. Search for the member (student or teacher) and select them.
  3. You will see their current loans listed in a table.
  4. Find the book they want to renew and click the Renew button next to it.
  5. The system checks if the renewal is allowed (they haven't reached the maximum number of renewals, usually 2).
  6. If allowed, a new due date is calculated and shown in a success message.

What you'll see: A message confirming the new due date.

If something goes wrong:

  • "Renewal limit exceeded" -- The book has already been renewed the maximum number of times (usually 2). The student needs to return it and check it out again if available.
  • "Patron is blocked" -- The student has overdue books or unpaid fines. These must be resolved before renewing.
