Reading Library Announcements

Your librarian can post announcements about library news, new books, schedule changes, and upcoming events. You can read all announcements from the patron portal.

Viewing Announcements

1. Click Announcements in the sidebar menu.
2. The announcements list shows all active announcements, newest first.
3. Pinned announcements appear at the top — these are important notices the librarian wants you to see first.
4. Each announcement shows the title, a short preview, and the published date.
5. Announcements marked Archived have passed their expiry date.

Reading an Announcement

1. Click any announcement title to open the full article.
2. The detail page shows:
   • The full announcement with rich formatting (headings, lists, tables, links)
   • A cover image at the top (if the librarian added one)
   • The published date
   • A Pinned or Archived badge if applicable
3. Click ← Back to announcements to return to the list.

Notification Emails

When the librarian publishes a new announcement, you may receive an email notification. You can control this in your notification preferences at /patron/notification-preferences.
