Writing and Managing Book Reviews

2 min read 11 views

Why Write a Review?

Book reviews help your fellow students and teachers discover great reads. When you write a review, it can appear on the book's catalog page so others can benefit from your opinion before they decide to borrow it.

Writing a Review

You can write a review from a book's catalog detail page:

  1. Find the book using Browse Catalog or AI Search.
  2. Open the book's detail page by clicking its title.
  3. Scroll down to the Reviews section.
  4. Click Write a Review.
  5. Fill in your review:
    • Rating — select a star rating (1 to 5 stars).
    • Review — write your thoughts about the book. Be honest and constructive.
  6. Click Submit Review.

Viewing All Your Reviews

To see all the reviews you have written:

  1. In the sidebar, go to My Account → My Reviews (or navigate to /patron/reviews).
  2. All your submitted reviews are listed with the book title, your rating, and the date you wrote the review.

Editing a Review

  1. Go to My Reviews (/patron/reviews).
  2. Find the review you want to change.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Update the rating or text.
  5. Click Save.

Deleting a Review

  1. Go to My Reviews (/patron/reviews).
  2. Find the review you want to remove.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Confirm the deletion when prompted. The review is permanently removed.

What You'll See

Your submitted reviews show a star rating, the review text, the book it applies to, and the date it was written.

Tips

  • You can only review books — you do not need to have borrowed the book to leave a review, but your feedback is most useful when it comes from actual reading experience.
  • Keep reviews respectful and relevant to the book's content.
