Can fines be waived? Yes. A librarian can waive a fine, but a different librarian must approve the waiver (the person who assessed the fine cannot be the one to waive it). A reason must be given for the waiver.

Can partial payments be recorded? Yes. If a student pays part of a fine, the payment is recorded and the fine status changes to "Partially Paid." The student can pay the rest later.

How does the fine system connect to the cashiering/finance system? The library can automatically send fine information to your school's finance system, and the finance system can send payment confirmations back. This way, fines paid at the cashier are automatically reflected in the library system. Ask your IT staff if this is set up for your school.
